Brit Whittle, Church Intern
Brit Whittle serves as the Church Intern at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church. By the grace of God, he has the privilege of learning from the congregation while assisting Pastor Jaymie and other church leaders in a variety of ministries. His role includes supporting worship, helping lead formation classes, and growing alongside the community in faith and service.
Brit loves studying the Bible, witnessing how God is at work in the lives of church members, and serving as an instrument through whom the Holy Spirit can encourage and strengthen others in the Body of Christ. Through his studies at Princeton Theological Seminary and his chaplaincy internship at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center, he has come to appreciate the sacredness of every person's life story. He believes that listening with compassion, being fully present, and receiving each person's story with care are among the greatest ways we can love our neighbors and reflect God's love.
His hope for Abiding Presence is that the congregation will continue to share Christ's love with Ewing and the surrounding communities, ensuring that everyone who walks through the church's doors knows they have a place in its beloved community. Outside of church, Brit finds his greatest joy in spending time with his wife and their two daughters, Vienna and Lumi. He also enjoys reading, playing guitar, listening to classical music, reading Shakespeare, and exploring the rich history of the Lutheran tradition.
Brit's favorite hymn is Abide with Me, and his favorite Bible verse is Romans 15:13: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." Among his most cherished church memories are the baptisms of both of his daughters. Before answering God's call to ministry, Brit spent 29 years as a professional actor and voice-over artist.
