Bag Up APLC!

New Jersey's single-use shopping bag ban goes into effect May 4, 2022.  This important law will protect wildlife and waterways and help keep the Garden State beautiful.  Our APLC Green Team has assembled the following list of informational resources, links, and tips to help you get ready to shop smart under the new law and care for creation in the checkout line.

Tips for shopping:
  • Pack a bag of re-usable bags in your car and immediately put your bags back in the car after each shopping trip.
  • Keep an empty box or crate in your trunk and use it while shopping or loading/unloading - as you do in "Club" stores that don't provide bags.
  • Have a stash of single-use bags you've kept on hand at home?  Get them out, reuse them many times, and then recycle them!
Don't have enough re-usable bags for a typical shopping trip?  We're collecting bags and you can pick one up in the Narthex after worship.  Have too many extra re-usable shopping bags on hand? Bring them in and help out a neighbor who doesn't have as many!
